I recently bought myself an Apple Ipad.  Part of it was because I thought it was a fun thing to have, but mostly because I thought it could help simplify and organize my life.    I could put books on it, download music to it, read my email, check in with my Facebook friends and check out the latest websites.  These are not new things.  I have always been able to do all of them, but before I had to use several different devices and now I can do it with just one.  And when I want, I can put it in my purse and take it with me.  It makes my life simpler and that was the goal.

Most organization issues are not the result of lack of space or the wrong storage containers.  Most organization issues are the result of having the wrong systems in place.  Before you start organizing think about how you use a space and how you want that space to work.  If you always have piles of mail on the kitchen table and you need to clear it off every night to eat dinner, then maybe you need to create a “landing area” for it.  If the kid’s backpacks are always all over the house, then perhaps setting up a designated spot with hooks to hang the backpacks is the answer.   So look around and see what you can find to organize which will simplify your life.
